POLICE in Bulawayo have arrested an 18-year-old girl who stabbed her 31-year-old boyfriend in a row over a cell phone. Monalisa Sibanda of Pumula East suburb allegedly ripped open Prosper Ndlovu's abdomen and the man was rushed to the United Bulawayo Hospitals with his intestines protruding.

"I can confirm that we've arrested an 18-year-old girl who stabbed her boyfriend over a cell phone. She is assisting police with investigations," said Insp Simango.
She expressed concern over teenagers engaging in criminal activities and urged parents to monitor their children's activities.
Insp Simango said members of the public should desist from engaging in violent criminal activities as that will land them in jail.
"We want to urge members of the public to shun violence. We're constantly attending to crime scenes where people will be fighting over trivial issues that can be resolved without using violence," she said.
Sources said Ndlovu was stabbed after failing to explain where he got a Nokia 1200.
"An altercation erupted between the two after Prosper brought home a Nokia 1200. He was stabbed in the abdomen and his intestines were protruding. Everyone thought Prosper was dying," said a source.
The Chronicle could not immediately establish whether the two were living together as husband and wife.
Bulawayo has seen an increase in the number of teenagers and pupils involved in criminal activities.
Alcohol and drug abuse has also been linked to murders that are being committed by young people.
