Chief Mutasa buried

The late Chief Mutasa who died on the 18th of October at Bonda Mission Hospital has been laid to rest in the sacred Bingaguru mountains in accordance with the traditional Shona culture.
Friends, relatives, government officials, traditional and political leaders and the Mutasa community thronged Kellys Park farm in Old Mutare, Mutasa district to give a befitting send off to Chief Mutasa who died a fortnight ago.
The late Chief Mutasa was at the helm of the Mutasa chieftainship for the past 11 years.
Chiefs' council chairman in Manicaland province Senator Chiduku described the late traditional leader as a humble and down to earth leader who respected traditional values.
Manicaland provincial administrator Mr Fungai Mbetsa, who stood in on behalf of the Minister of Rural Development, Preservation and Promotion of Culture and Heritage Cde Abednico Ncube, said the late Chief Mutasa was a fearless and dedicated leader who upheld cultural and traditional values.
Born Misheck Pasi Chakanyuka Mutasa on the 6th of December in 1919 in Bonda, the late Chief Mutasa ascended to the Mutasa chieftainship on the 25th of June 2004.
He is survived by his wife Mavis Mukome, 6 children and 30 grandchildren.
