Council records 13 bursts pipes along main water transmission pipes

Bulawayo City Council has indicated that it has recorded 13 pipe bursts along the main water pipes from Mtshabezi Dam, Insiza and Inyankuni.
According to council's latest minutes the supply pipes experienced some bursting and leaks along the delivery lines.
"A total of 13 bursts had been encountered on the transmission pipelines. All the13 bursts had been done and preparations were in progress for repair of the 7 leaks, the information of which was tabulated below," reads the minutes.
The minutes states that bursts on bulk transmission lines were Insiza Inyankuni 30" line.
The minutes states that the council is implementing an Epping Forest Project this project would augment the city's current water supply with an additional 10 Ml of water per day and it was estimated to cost about USD 4 million.
"Council had passed a resolution and agreed to partner with Government/ZINWA and contributed towards the cost of implementing this project," reads the minutes.
