ZRP Bulawayo launches client service charter

The Zimbabwe Republic Police in Bulawayo has launched the client service charter amid calls for a strong partnership between the law enforcement authorities and the community for effective policing services.
The involvement of the community in crime management is key to effective policing and the reduction of cases of crime.
Speaking at the launch, ZRP Officer Commanding Bulawayo Metropolitan province, Senior Assistant Commissioner Steven Mutamba urged the Bulawayo community to join the neighbourhood watch committees as a way of fortifying communities against criminals.
"While we will continue to uphold out constitutional mandate of maintaining law and order in the country to ensure a safe investment and business environment in the country's second largest city," he said.
Under the new client service charter, the ZRP has put in place user-friendly communication tools such as hotlines, suggestion boxes, Whatsapp and other platforms to facilitate the flow of information between the police and the public.
