Zimbabwe Union of Journalist Secretary General Foster Dongozi has warned journalists in Zimbabwe to be concerned over their professional and personal security as the nation has started recording an upsurge in cases of the scribes harassment by the state security agents.
The remarks come in the work of recent arrest of Sunday Mail and Herald Reporters over the writing of a police linked story.
Also this comes at a time when the country experiences an escalation of political violence which may see journalists getting into cross fire during the skirmishes.
"Journalists should always be concerned about their professional and personal security while pursuing their duties," Dongozi reminded Zimbabwe Newspapers Ltd workers at a retreat meeting over the weekend.
