VP Emmerson Mnangagwa yesterday sought to dispel growing claims within Zanu-PF that he is locked in a factional war with First Lady Grace Mugabe.

This comes after MDC MP for Kuwadzana East, Nelson Chamisa, asked the VP during Parliament's question without notice whether he and Grace had a cordial working relationship. Chamisa asked Mnangagwa to explain if he enjoyed his sleep at night, given that First Lady Grace Mugabe was going around the country holding rallies, which are perceived by some as tailored to bolster support for herself as a Presidential candidate.

Mnangagwa replied that Chamisa had no business in the ruling party's affairs and claiming that all was well within the former liberation movement.

"If you look at me now, do you see someone who looks as if they don't sleep well? My wife is here in this House and you can approach her to ask if I don't sleep well. If you are scared to ask her, you can ask my mainini (sister-in-law)," Mnangagwa said jokingly, while referring to Harare West MP Jessie Majome (MDC-T).
