A BULAWAYO family is appealing for help to locate a 17-year-old girl who has been missing for over a month.
Ashleigh Ambrose, of Malindela suburb, who was doing Form 3 at BES College disappeared on November 26.
Her uncle, Floyd Ambrose, said Ashleigh left home for school on the day at around 7AM, but when she knocked-off she did not reach home.
"My niece left home to school and she never came back. Her friends said they last saw her when they dismissed at around 4PM. We're worried about her being missing," said Ambrose.
He said she was last seen wearing her school uniform.
"She was wearing a blue skirt, white shirt and black shoes. We've reported the issue to the police to assist us," said Ambrose.
Bulawayo Metropolitan province police spokesperson Inspector Precious Simango said: "Ashleigh Ambrose is of medium built, average height of 1,5m, approximately 50kg in weight, brown in complexion and she does not have any visible scars."
She appealed to anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ashleigh to contact the nearest police station.
"We're appealing to anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ashleigh to contact the officer in charge ZRP Hillside on 09-242426, investigating officer Constable Ruramai Musiwa on landline 09-241161-3, missing person's uncle Floyd Ambrose on 0782435541, ZRP Bulawayo Provincial WhatsApp number 077609722 or any nearest police station," said Insp Simango.
Last year about six pupils from Bulawayo's western suburbs were reported missing.
One of the pupils Albright Munkuli, 17, who went missing in July last year was found at United Bulawayo Hospitals after spending more than a month in the intensive care unit after he was involved in an accident, but could not talk.
