Ex policeman's former wife seek protection order

An EX -policeman was accused by his former wife of verbally and physically abusing her and claiming that he is above the law.
This was heard by Harare magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa when when Angelina Maforimo sought protection order against the ex-policeman Benjamin Chidewu.
She told the court that they separated six months ago but the former husband insisted on reconciling and she was against it because he verbally and physically abuse her.
The woman said the former husband refused her to collect her property and clothes fro0m their matrimonial home.
"Benjamin brags to be an ex-policeman and says he is above the law. I am therefore pleading for protection order," she said.
But Benjamin said she was lying that he said he was above the law. He said she asked him to get out of her life and he consented to divorce after he discovered that she had an extra marital affair. He said he has never denied her access to the property. But the magistrate granted the protection order.
