Typical of the old Gukurahundi style of corporal punishment or torture where brothers would be ordered to fight each other to death, two young boys have been recorded on a video while police officers order them to clap each other brutality.
The two young boys in their early teens are apparently accused of some theft and ordered to beat the hell out of each other never to steal again.
Under a superior officer's order commanded in Shona and followed up by another officer in Ndebele, the boys take turns to thoroughly beat each other as they fall over and rise again to continue the clapping.
The video has infuriated a lot of people who have seen the it condemning the police's action and calling for immediate investigation into the matter.
However, some people who have seen the video commend the police action as they say that it was the best punishment they could have given to the boys to stop them stealing again.
Zimbabwean laws prohibit police from exercising any corporal punishment except under the instruction of a court of law.
