Zanu PF National Political Commissar Saviour Kasukuwere has blasted grassroots political leadership including councillors who misappropriate goods entrusted to them for distribution to community members.
Kasukuwere lambasted the practice by some leaders in the party's lower structures with a tendency of depriving intended beneficiaries of agricultural inputs and relief food, saying such practices are against party principles.
He said this while addressing party supporters at Mubaira Growth Point during the launch of a campaign ahead of the Mhondoro-Mubaira parliamentary by-election set for March 5.
Zanu PF's George Gangarahwe will contest against Freedom Front party's Rodwell Nyangani.
Zanu PF Mashonaland West provincial chairman Ephraim Chengeta and senate president Edna Madzongwe commended the candidates who lost the primary election for accepting the election outcome and for rendering support to Gangarahwe.
The Mhondoro-Mubaira seat fell vacant following the expulsion of Sylvester Nguni from Zanu PF and his subsequent recall from parliament.
