A WHIRLWIND blown female underwear caused a storm in Makokoba yesterday after neighbors exchanged blows over it.
The female underwear popularly known as "maHadebe" because of its design was washed and hanged for drying on a washing line, buried under some towel.
However whirlwind came and blew of the towel and the underwear to the next yard.
"Ubaba uMkandla ube ehlakulela, wasebona ipant lisiwa watshela uThando ukuthi alidobhe alihambise kosaChipo," said a source.
When the little girl – Thando came, she was instructed to pick up the underwear and take it to next door, which she did.
Upon arrival next door, she knocked at the front door and Mr Makwerere opened the door, only to be advised by the girl that her father sent her to hand over the female underwear.
Mr Makwerere is said to have bolted out of the house and went straight next door where he arrived and without any courtesy started assaulting his neighbor of 15 years.
He accused him of contempt and "sleeping" with his wife, who at the time had gone to Botswana, sources said.
The ensuring chaos attracted scores of residents who watched a free boxing match that was brought to an end by Bulawayo Municipality Police.
A report was made at Ross Camp Police Camp.
Contacted for comment on the matter, Bulawayo Police Spokesperson Mandlenkosi Moyo said: "We are yet to receive that report, please check after an hour."
Repeated efforts to get the official story where fruitless as Inspector Moyo could not be reached.
