Former Zimbabwe Broadcaster with the ZBC Albert Kashiri has died.

"Fellow Zimbabwean Broadcast Journalists, Radio Zimbabwe staff, all members of the Zimbabwean media fraternity and all comrades and friends, it is with deep sorrow that I advise of the death of Cde Albert Kashiri, one of the longest serving broadcasters at the ZBC," Knight said. "Mukoma Albert Kashiri, popularly known as 'Chosa', passed away in hospital in the United Kingdom last week after a long illness."
He said Chosa was one of the broadcasters he found when he joined ZBC and he was an extremely kind and sociable character loved by many.
"He was one of those Broadcasters that I personally learnt a thing or two from for sure. Alongside the likes of the late Lisben Nasasara, the late Hilton Mambo, Kingsley Sibanda, Lorraine Garwe, Tsitsi Vera, Shingirayi Virimayi, Joseph Madhimba, Wellington Mbofana, Elias Mange Ndebele, Sam Mkhithika, Dins Patrick Mutume, Nyasha Maphosa, Tsitsi Jindu, Josh Makawa, Brenda Moyo, Jonathan Mutsinze, Praxcedes Jeremiah, Evans Mambara, Farayi Mungazi, Kelvin Sifelani, Admire Taderera and many more," Knight said. "This is the team that nurtured some of us and I must be quick to say I was fortunate to have been mentored by him. I am deeply saddened but at the same time glad for him that he left a mark within the Zimbabwean Broadcasting fraternity. Some of his well known Radio programmes included the newsreel show 'Zvirimunhau/ Okusendabeni. Hamba kahle mnewethu 'Chosa'. Go well my brother."
Knight said he knew Kashiri will also be missed in his social circles kuma Stone in Highfields where he was a prominent figure.
"To the Kashiri family and friends, my condolences, ngatichemeyi tine tariro. God bless Zimbabwe! God bless Africa!" he said.
