Sabi, one of the Midlands Province's biggest gold mines is expected to reopen this week after securing new investments from Chandiwana Mines Private Limited.
Masvingo Mirror reported that Sabi Gold Mine judicial Manager, Wesley Sibanda said Chandiwana is a venture of Zimbabweans in the Diaspora.
We have secured an investor which is Chandiwana Mines Private Limited. It is a local investor composed of Zimbabweans based in the Diaspora who are investing on mining. We are done with all the necessary paperwork and operations will start next week," said Sibanda
"The consortium of local investors are starting production with $26,1 million and they will be reengaging all key workers whose contracts were terminated at the closure of the mine and these will be recalled back in phases as production increases," said Sibanda
Sibanda also said that the board of the new investors will be a joint of Zimbabwe Mining Development Cooperation (ZMDC) and Chandiwana. Business
