Mayor's attempt to defend Banda a desperate ploy

Bulawayo Pregressive Resident Association official Rodrick Fayayo has said the attempt by the Bulawayo Mayor Martin Moyo to defend his deputy Gift Banda's land acquisition is at least a desperate attempt to appease the establishment in Bulawayo as a way of securing his political future and at most an indication of the elite capture of the MDC - T.
"It cannot be that the leadership make it its core duty to allocate properties for themselves instead of providing a conducive environment to ensure that ordinary residents in the city access those properties. If we have problems with it being done by Zanu PF surely we should have a problem when the party that we thought was carrying our hopes begin to exhibit those characteristics," he said.
