Man in trouble for assaulting lover over rentals

A man from Empumalanga Township in Hwange who assaulted his girlfriend after she asked him to assist in paying her rentals has landed himself behind bars.
William Ndlovu (38) pleaded guilty to assault when he appeared before Hwange magistrate Sheron Rosemani. The magistrate convicted and sentenced him to two months in jail wholly suspended for 210 hours of community service at Hwange Magistrate Court.
When asked why he committed the offence he said, "It was blacklable your worship. I think Iam going to quit alcohol."
Prosecutor Charlene Gorerino told the court Ndlovu assaulted his girlfriend Frida Ncube (28) after she visited him at a bar on February 5 2016 at around 9pm asking for money for rentals. Ndlovu them asked her to accompany him to his home and when they arrived he started assaulting her . She sustained swollen eyes and some bruises on the right hand as a result. She reported the matter to the police leading to Ndlovu's arrest.
