Cashier jailed 24 months for fraud

A cashier with Kenny Consultant International Management Consultants (KCI) of Nharira in Chikomba who forged different people's signatures and collected loans from the company that she worked for has been jailed for 24 months.
However, the magistrates suspended the whole sentence on condition she pays full restitution of US$1880 and performs 350 hours of community service.
She faced 19 counts of theft.
Masvingo Mirror reported that Jane Chichebo (38), of house number 1745 Westwood pleaded guilty before Magistrate Denis Mangosi.
The court withdrew two more counts due to lack of evidence.
It is the sate case that during a period extending from November 30, 2015 to January 23 2016, Chichebo who was a cashier for KCI at Nharira, misrepresented that 21 people had signed for loans of different certain amounts.
She alleged that the loan forms that were produced in court as exhibit were written by the people said to have applied for the loans thereby defrauding KCI about $2000.
The offence was discovered on February 1 2016, when Jennifer Dhambuzo (28), who is KCI loans officer, was checking on the records.
The matter was reported to the police leading to Chichebo's arrest.
Magistrate Mangosi remanded Chichebo to February 16 2015 for sentence
