Harare residents seek clarity on CDF

Harare Residents Trust has said the residents at the capital city have demanded clarification as to what happened to the constituency development fund which some of the house of assembly members sometime abused.
The trust said Harare residents regularly ask what has become of the Constituency Development Fund that was abused by the Parliamentarians in the 2008- 2013 Parliament of Zimbabwe.
"Each Member of Parliament was allocated US$50 000 for constituency development. The majority of the MPs abused this fund, and have been holding senior positions in their respective political parties. MPs from MDC-T, MDC and Zanu PF have not been held accountable for this massive abuse of the CDF money," said the trust. "This is sad considering the fact that most communities have poor roads, no water, clinics have insufficient resources, children have no play centres, recreational facilities have been converted into residential stands."
The trust further asked for advice as to what should residents and other concerned stakeholders be doing to exert more pressure on the MPs who abused this fund, and did not do anything in their respective constituencies?
