Juvenile saves $30 to marry girl (12) he raped

A 15 year old boy from Jotsholo has been dragged to court for raping a girl aged 12.
The boy who can not be named due to his age pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to four strokes. He was also sentenced to a two year suspended sentence on condition of good behaviour. In mitigation he told the court that he intended to marry the girl and so far he had saved $30 which someone owes him for the job he did .
"If it is not enough I will ask my mother to help me," said the boy appearing before Hwange Regional magistrate Dambudzo Malunga.
Prosecutor Tawanda Sigauke told the court that sometime in March 2014 the boy proposed love to the girl and he asked him to accompany him into the bush where he asked for sex and she agreed. The boy had sexual intercourse with her whom at law was below the age of consent.
Sometime in January 2016 the girl told him that she was no longer in love with him. On February 2016 at around 5pm complainant was sent to fetch firewood by her grandmother and she met the boy who offered to help her and later grabbed her before raping her.
The girl when she returned home revealed to her parents that she was raped and a report made to the police led to the boy's arrest.
