The Member of Parliament for Mwenezi East, Joshua Moyo and Mwenezi Rural District Council have donated mealie-meal, blankets, buckets and soap to victims of last week's floods that affected people in Ward 13 and 14.
Masvingo Mirror reported that fourteen households were severely affected by the floods and each household got 30kgs of mealie-meal, three blankets, two buckets and two bars of washing soap.
The donations were handed over at Rutenga Business Centre on Sunday and one of the beneficiaries Kudzai Madhobhi from ward 13 told The Mirror that he was grateful because he and his family had nothing to eat after his home was destroyed by the floods.
Another beneficiary Peter Mamele said he is grateful because he also has a tent to live in after donations from the Red Cross.
Most of the households from ward 13 and 14 lost homes, properties, chickens and crops.
