Student arrested for possession of explosives

Brinard Siziba (22) a gold panner by day and a student during the night at Tongani Secondary School in Zvishavane, had his black satchel to blame when he was stopped by Police detectives on patrol along Masvingo-Zvishavane road and upon being searched they found explosives, a matchet and an Okapi knife without documents allowing him to carry such material.
Masvingo Mirror reported that the incident happened on Thursday March 17, 2016. Siziba was arrested and appeared before resident Magistrate Bishard Chineka on Friday last week where he pleaded guilty and was fined $200 or 60 days in prison.
In mitigation Siziba said he was doing night school at Tongani Secondary School and was looking for money to pay for his school fees.
He also said that he intended to use the explosives at a mine in Mashava. Angeline Mujakachi prosecuted
