Bulawayo City Council has replaced 100 traffic signs in the city.
This is revealed through the latest council minutes.
"During the month of February, the number of traffic and street name signs replaced was 100. The majority of signs replaced were Danger Warning signs, Disc Zone Parking signs and Give way signs. In the previous month, 109 traffic and street signs were replaced," reads the minutes.
"The tender for supply of 107 Directional signs was awarded to Water print Investments (Pvt) (Ltd), and they were currently mobilising for delivering the signs."
The minutes also states that a new list of speed hump requests had been compiled.
"There was no specific team which was dedicated to hump erection. Teams had to switch from pothole patching and general maintenance to do this activity. Faced with this scenario of manpower shortage the Section can only manage to do a very limited number of hump sites per month. In a majority of cases section was forced to redo most of the sites due to lack of surfacing material, which was aggravating the situation," reads the minutes.
