A disciplinary board from the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education last week sat for the hearing of the Runyararo Primary School teacher who allegedly assaulted and fractured a pupil's hand.
Masvingo Mirror reported that Mashonaland East Provincial Education Director, Christopher Chihota confirmed that the teacher, Jacqueline Shoniwa who was a Grade six teacher is under investigation over the matter.
"A disciplinary board from Marondera has been set up to investigate on what actually happened. The determination is still pending," Chihota said.
The incident occurred sometime in November 2015.
The Mirror is told that Shoniwa assaulted the child for failing to bring a mathematics book until she used her hands to block the shambok.
When the child's parents discovered that the child was in pain, they brought her to school. They agreed to resolve the matter between them and the school.
The child was allegedly taken to a private hospital, where a fracture was detected. The hand was then put in a plaster.local news
