Bulawayo traffic cop up for bribery

A Bulawayo traffic police officer is in trouble after he allegedly collected $30 bribe from an omnibus crew.
Rangarirai Chigombe (42) who is an Inspector appeared in court to answer charge of criminal abuse of office. The $30 would be be paid for kombis to pass through the check point per week without being arrested by the police. He will be back in court on May 9.
Chigombe was arrested by police from PGHQ internal investigations who received a tip off that he was collecting bribes along Chiremba Road. T
his happened on April 15 at 4am where the police officers on patrol approached the check point purporting to be operators of kombi and were asked to pay the money for free passage and they paid $30 which was trap money. This led to his arrest there and there.
