Bulawayo City Council has to date managed to patch 10 000 square metres of potholes.
City Director of Engineering Simela Dube said the stretch covered translates to 32km.
Dube said this at the ongoing 5th All Road Authorities and National Roads Condition Project launch in Bulawayo.
However, Dube said the city is battling to catch up with the pace due to shortage of materials.
Pothole patching is mostly done by community groups.
Some participants said there was political interference in selecting people to carry out patching project.
