SOME ministers in the Government of National Unity are against the allocating of US$40 million for distressed companies in Bulawayo and have tirelessly worked to block it, a Cabinet minister has revealed.
Addressing church leaders in Bulawayo recently, Regional Integration and International Cooperation minister Priscilla Musiharirabwi Mushonga said some Cabinet ministers were against the allocation of the fund to the city arguing that it is not the only city in need of funds.
She added that there was "war" in Cabinet over the fund and asked Bulawayo residents to "pray" for those like her that want to assist the region to win the war.
"Judging from the war that I witnessed in Cabinet Bulawayo industries, I know that is going to be another war for the money to be released. We engaged in intense debate and some ministers, were not happy, in fact they were opposing the initiative.
"We want church leaders to pray for us because in the Inclusive Government we are not united and when we start discussing issues some people think we are talking tribalism," she said.
