Police donates to Uswaushava satellite school

TRIANGLE - Officer Commanding ZRP Masvingo Province Senior Assistant Commissioner Martha Mofolo has donated stationery and building equipment to Uswaushava a satellite School in Triangle ward 16 under Chief Nyajena during a cattle branding re-launch ceremony last Friday.

Masvingo Mirror reported that the commanding officer donated stationery and 5 bags of cement which was given a standing ovation by the villagers who attended.

"We are happy with what the Assistant Commissioner has done for us as a community, the improvement of the school will mean a better tomorrow for us all," said Thomas Dzoro the school head.

Uswaushava was opened in 2004 as a satellite school to Mufakose Secondary School and has one block which was built by the Norwegian Refugee Council.
The school has three run down shades which are used as classrooms and has 359 students and 13 teachers.

"We are currently working on a new block with the parents who are mobilizing their resources for the improvement of the school," remarked Dzoro.

There are a total of 7 satellite schools in the Uswaushava resettlement area namely Banga and Chisase secondary schools, Manhekwe, Gwerima, Mahanyele and Banga primary schools. Uswaushava School had a 20% pass rate in 2015 Zimsec examinations.

 The school has done well in sports where they reached U17 provincial finals in 2015.
