THE Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) formation led by Professor Welshman Ncube has finally found its runaway bull on Wednesday that was supposed to be donated last week, a senior party official has said.
In an exclusive interview with Bulawayo24.com today, the secretary general of the youth assembly Discent Collins Bajila confirmed that the bull, which made headlines after fleeing from a truck and causing party heavyweights and villagers to chase after it the whole day, has been after a torrid search been found and donated.
"The pedigree Brahman bull was finally captured through massive cooperation among members of the community. They then invited us to do the formal hand over.
He added, "President Ncube, Deputy President Mushoriwa and the Secretary General Hon Priscilla Misihairabwi then led us to that ceremony and we were warmly welcomed by Councillor Sibindi, Headman Moyo and the rest of the community. What I can say for now is that the bull is fully in the hands of the community and therefore an obvious reason for unity and cooperation", said Bajila.
The Nyandeni community in Matabeleland South is a resettlement area created by government at the height of the 1982 drought. Cattle breeding has therefore been a problem in that area despite the rich grasslands.
