Commotion recently reigned supreme at the United Bulawayo Hospitals during  a visiting hour when a woman ran berserk denying her ailing husband's brother access to see him saying  he was a serial wizard who could cause the death of her husband.

The woman went on to launch a hallistic attack on her brother-in-law who is a police officer labelling him a stupid cop and thief who had stolen her cattle. As a result of the foul mouthing she was arrested.

The witch-hunting mission reportedly brought business to screeching halt at the hospital when workers, nurses and visitors jostled to catch a glimpse of the spectacle at the Forester Ward. The major highlight of the manifestation was when the woman reportedly barricaded the entrance to the hospital ward where her husband was admitted.

Allegations against Freidah Ncube of Number 15 Everline Road Sauerstown are that she stirred the hornet's nest when she reportedly reduced her brother-in-law Thabani Ncube (45) to an epitome of humiliation by publicly calling him a wizard and thief.

Before the stunning incident, it is alleged that the two parties were not in good books, as the accused person was always accusing the complainant of bewitching her husband.

Ncube, who is a teacher, claimed that her husband was hospitalised due to his brother's witchcraft antics. She claimed that she would not not allow his brother-in-law to see her husband as she could risk losing him due to the complainant's witchcraft practices.

The complainant who could not stomach the torrent of attacks, reported the matter leading to the arrest of the accused person. The accused person was brought before Bulawayo magistrate Miss Marylene Mtshina.

She was being charged with a crime of contravening Section 95 (1) (a) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23 (criminal insult).

She was not formally charged and was remanded out of custody to on free bail. Mr Admire Chikwayi appeared for the State.
