So well orchestrated is the arrangement that some members of the gang would pounce on their unsuspecting victims after one of them purportedly asked for help.
Circumstances are that on 19 October Sibonokuhle Mabhena (36) Nhlanhla Moyo (32) in the company of their accomplice who is still at large went to TN Harloquin Company located at 8th Avenue and Jason Moyo.
The daring trio had reportedly hatched a plan to steal from the company. Upon arrival at the shop, Moyo posing as a genuine shopper reportedly asked for assistance from the unsuspecting cashier Nokhuthula Moyo.
The cashier in a bid to execute her customer care relations is alleged to have left her desk to attend to the now one of the accused persons.
Mabhena and the other accused person who is still at large who were well acquainted with the deal quickly took advantage of the disguise by proceeding to the desk and stole the cash box which was on top.The cash box contained US$13 184. After striking the bonanza, Mabhena exploiting the opportunity and taking advantage of her biological make up allegedly stashed the cash box in her undergarment.
Without any fear of the dangers posed by the metal box to her privates, she reportedly bolted out of the shop before making good her escape.
In an attempt to smooth sail their 'heist' Moyo remained in the shop for sometime entertaining the cashier and went out after realising that their mission had been accomplished.
It is further reported that the cashier realised later that her cash had been stolen and reported the matter to the police.
Detectives acting on information from the cashier managed to arrest Moyo who was on a shopping spree at a local supermarket.
Moyo later implicated Mabhena leading to her subsequent arrest at her place of residence in Old Pumula. Upon her arrest she had already 'spoiled' her living room with a plasma television set, which she had bought, using proceeds from the theft sojourn.
Following their arrest, out of the stolen money only US$6 380 was recovered.
