Duo gets 210 hours community service for killing Impala worth $1000

Two man from Tsholotsho have been slapped with 210 hours of community service for hunting and killing an Impala worth $1000.
Confidence Ndlovu (18) and Ntuthuko Sibanda (18) pleaded guilty to illegal hunting when they appeared before Tsholotsho magistrate Victor Mpofu. The magistrate convicted and sentenced them to 9 months in jail.
Three months of the sentence were suspended for three years on condition of good behaviour. The remaining six months wee suspended on condition they completed 210 hours of community service.
The court heard that on May 3 this year at 7pm the two went to Sedgwick farm with their dogs where they hunted and killed an Impala. They took it home where they shared the meat.
The police in the area were tipped and went to search at their homes where they recovered meat weighing 21,875kgs. This led to their arrest. The Impala was worth $1000 and part of its meat was recovered from the two.
