Chimene gives vendors ultimatum

THE Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs, Mandi Chimene, has given vegetable vendors at Sakubva Musika a week to go back to their designated trading points as the informal traders are now selling their products right in the middle of the road creating a traffic nightmare.
Manica Post reported that during a tour of the marketplace this morning, Chimene blasted the traders for disbanding their stalls to opt for the highway.
She also took a swipe at Mutare City Council for failing to timeously collect garbage which is now an eyesore.
Motorists are now having a torrid time to either pass through or park their vehicles at the marketplace as the vendors have invaded parking bays.
She said despite endangering the travelling public, the free-for-all situation at the marketplace was offering a good breeding ground for diseases such as cholera.
