Zimbabwe Teachers' Colleges Sports Association president Edward Chekure said that colleges hold the future of sports in the country hence they should spear head the anti-doping campaign.
According to Masvingo Mirror he said this on the sidelines of the official opening of the ZITCOSA national games held at Morganster Teachers' College on Saturday last week.
"These student teachers are in a noble profession as such they should lead by example by being advocates of the anti-doping campaign , they should be able to teach the children not to want to win by means but to win through hard work," said Chekure.
Zimbabwe Tertiary Institutions Sports Union (ZITISU) president Martin Zibwi said that they are looking for partners in the medical field to help in curbing doping in tertiary institutions.
"Currently as ZITISU we do not have structures that help to curb doping but we are looking for partners in the medical field to help us," said Zibwi.
ZITCOSA national patron Raviro Chipato said that they should be a program that churns out athletes to national teams.
"We should put in place programs that produce athletes for the national teams and talent in students should be explored to greater heights," said Chipato.
The games ran under the theme 'Promoting STEM Through Sports.'
