A man from Mahatshula in Bulawayo allegedly grabbed his step daughter when she was removing her school uniform and raped her.
This was heard by the Bulawayo magistrate Evelyn Mashavakure when the man (62) appeared before her charged with rape. He was not asked to plead to the charge and was remanded to June 20 in custody.
The court heard that on may 11 this year at 5pm the girl aged 12 arrived home from Woodville Primary school and went to the man's bedroom to remove her uniform. While removing the uniform the man entered and lifted her up to the bed where he raped her before telling her not to tell anyone about the incident.
The offence was discovered by her mother when she saw her walking with difficulties. She reported to the police leading to man's arrest.
