Over 600 properties with illegal water connections

Investigations by the City of Harare have reportedly established that 680 properties has illegal water connections.

According to Harare Residents Trust, the capital is missing out on around 60% of revenue from water.

"The city is currently losing 60% of water unaccounted for.

"The council is starting with Tynwald, Mabelreign and Marlborough as they have found out that not all properties in the area are registered with the City's billing database.

"The results indicate that 630 properties have illegal water connections," the trust reported.
