Woman dumps grandson

A 62 year old woman is accused of dumping her son's 21 months old baby who had been left at her house by his former wife.
Gogo Christine Kaliot pleaded not guilty to charges of negligence to minor child and young person when she appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Takudwa Mutetwa.
The trial was differed.
In denying the charge she said her son's former wife was the one to blame for dumping the child.
The court heard that on March at 11 am Wedzerai Choto heard a baby crying at the back of her yard.
She went outside and took the baby and took her to her house, the following day she asked in her neighbourhood on who the baby belonged to and she was told it was Gogo Kaliot's grandson.
This led to her arrest.
