A Bulawayo man who became too drunk and became a nuisance at a local bar was lucky to be freed after his further remand was refused by the magistrate due to witnesses who were not turning up for the case at the courts.
Bekezela Mathema was not asked to plead to charged of disorderly behaviour at a public place when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Evelyn Mashavakure.
On June 10 this year at 10pm Mathema was at Bambanani Mazulu Sports Bar drinking beer and he allegedly approached different patrons drinking their beer without their consent.
He later became violent and insulted the patrons and in the process kicked a container of Ingwebu beer splashing it on several patrons. This led to his arrest.
