16-year-old Zvishavane offender back again after amnesty

A notorious 16-year-old boy who terrorized Zvishavane and was released on Amnesty is back in the cells after he was convicted for unlawful entry by a Magistrate last week.

The boy was serving from Whawha Young Offenders Prison before his release two weeks ago.

The minor had a notorious record of crime mainly committed in the small mining town and these included stealing cars, electrical gadgets and unlawful entry.

The minor who faced two counts of unlawful entry and theft appeared before Zvishavane Magistrate Peter Madiba who slapped him with an effective four-year sentence.

In passing the sentence Madiba considered that the minor had many previous convictions and he was proving that he could not repent.
It is the State case that on June 2, 2016 and at Nover the convict entered without permission into Sipasonge Makuwerere's house after breaking a window pane.

After gaining entry the convict took an HP laptop, a laptop charger and one laptop bag before he left unnoticed.

The court heard that after stealing at Nover the convict took the property to Mandava Baptist Church where he broke in and tried to charge the gadget and was spotted by a security guard on duty leading to his arrest.
