A Chitungwiza man has been dragged to court on allegations of defrauding a Chivu man of his cash amounting to $300 and property worth $41.

Joseph Bvunzawabaya (42) appeared before Stanford Mambanje charged with fraud. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded out of custody $200 bail to June 23.

It was alleged that on May 4 this year at Mbare Musika he connived with his counterparts who are still at large and lied to Moses Kamwana (32)  that they were from Mozambique and were selling some medicines. They said they were in need of assistance in identifying and counting the United States dollar.

They asked him to leave his belongings which included the property and cash of $300.

Kamwana went to the said service station but failed to locate the mentioned persons and when he returned to where the conmen were he found them having gone with his belongings. He then reported to the police leading to Bvunzawabaya's arrest.
