Michael Muziwi (38) denied the allegations when appearing before Mbare magistrate Miti charged with assault.
He was further remanded out of custody on $30 bail.
The court heard that on May 27 Tatenda Matanga was having a braai with his friends at Samuriwo Shopping centre in Mufakose.
It is alleged that Muziwi went to the braai stand and started eating meat without Matanga's consent. Matanga allegedly confronted and asked him why he was eating the meat without his consent.
This did not go down well with Muziwi who attacked Matanga with a knife and stabbed him on the head. Matanga sustained head injuries and was rushed to hospital. Report made to the police led to Muziwi's arrest.
