Govt rapped over delayed completion of bridge along Mutare Road

A political and social commentator Rejoice Ngwenya has rapped the government over failure to complete a bridge along a road in Mutare for a long time.
"I have a complaint against the government. For the past three years, some company or entity contracted to construct the bridge on Mutare Road, next to Mabvuku turnoff, fifteen kilometres east of Harare, has been pussy footing," Ngwenya said.
"Traffic is so miserably congested both morning and evening peak hours. To add to our woes, there are 'permanent' traffic cop and ZBC licensing road blocks on either side of this bridge nearly everyday on a bridge that takes in four lanes into two 'strips'. If you are a civil engineer who has driven through that point, or you are a road person who lives in Mabvuku, or Ruwa, kindly give me an idea when this misery will end."
He said his friends in the media don't bother writing about it.
"I said 'friends') - please do some investigative stuff to see if there is no corruption around this project. Why is it taking so long? Why wasn't Group Five or JR Goddard involved since they did most of the highway?" Ngwenya posted on his Facebook wall.
Steady Musengi Urayai said Zimbabwe will stay a joke until people rise to what is right.
Ngwenya said the bridge could have taken only over three weeks to complete!
"We Africans are pathetic," he said.
