A Harare man is in trouble for allegedly defrauding a family of nearly $10 000 inheritance money while withholding marriage and death certificates of Gokwe resident.

Callen Makombe accused Gibson Zvabvirepi Chimbetete of preferred Financial Services of stealing thousands from the estate of the late father Shadreck Makombe.

Callen said her father died on October 4 2012 and they needed to distribute his belongings equally among family members so  she was referred to Gibson by a friend.

"My father had a house 15 Zingizi Road Mufakose. I already had a buyer and just needed him Gibson to be an executor. The house was sold for $17 000.  Me and the late brother;s wife  we were supposed to be given $6 713 each. Gibson rushed me to sign a corundum of agreement saying that it was for the $2 941 that he had given me over two years ago," Callen said.

"I was given $2 941 in the past two years,"

She said when she asked him where was the rest of the money  he was told that the High Court had not yet closed his father's estate file and the money was still in the High Court.

She said efforts are hitting a hard rock for her to recover the money from Gibson.
