Chivhu RCZ deacon dies

Kenani Soko who once served as a deacon and church elder at Chivhu Reformed church has died. He was 88 and was buried last week at Chivhu location cemetery.
Soko's son Geffrey Soko confirmed the death.
Soko died last week, he had a stroke at his homestead at Chivhu location. Soko was born in Zambia and came to Chivhu at the age of 11. He proceeded to stay in Zvishavane where he was one of the students of Herbert Chitepo. He was once an assistant orderly (medical profession) and later worked as a Policeman in Zvishavane and Chivhu. He is survived by his wife Laiza Soko, 6 children, 24 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Soko was actively involved in the development of the community and also in the construction and growth of the church.
The funeral was attended by several Government officials, various churches in the district and chiefs.
