Pastor appears in court for rape

A Pastor with the Righteousness Revival Ministries who grabbed headlines after he allegedly raped a teenage congregant saying he had prophesied of her brighter future has appeared in court charged with rape.
Tawanda Chikeya who was being jointly charged with his fellow tenant Tapiwa Maruve appeared at the Harare magistrate court.
They were not asked to plead to the charge before Tendai Mahwe who remanded them out of custody to July 7 on $50 bail.
The two are said to have raped the 16-year-old girl that the pastor prophesied that she had a brighter future on March 29 this year.
The pastor allegedly told the girl that she was told in the spirit that she must fall in love with him for her to enjoy the brighter future.
The pastor allegedly met the girl sometime in April and Lake Chivero. It is alleged that on May 23 the two picked the girl from school and took her to a hotel where they are suspected to have abused her.
