THERE was drama last Thursday evening, at a flat between Robert Mugabe and Conaught Avenue in the city, when a Harare based woman committed suicide outside her boyfriend flat after discovering that he had impregnated another woman.
Ropafadzo Majori is alleged to have taken some poison after discovering that, her boyfriend had impregnated another woman.
Majori who had been going out with the man since 2005 is alleged to have been informed by a friend that her boyfriend was now staying with another woman.
A source that spoke to B-Metro said Majori arrived in Bulawayo on Thursday last week to verify the issue that he had got through the grape vine.
"Before Majori arrived here she actually phoned to inform him that she was on her way to Bulawayo.
"So this was a warning to him who had to make sure that all his doors were closed to avoid Majori who was fuming over the matter," said the source.
It is alleged that Majori arrived at around 8pm and when she knocked the doors of the flat she never got any response and this forced her to call him on his mobile which he never answered.
Thobekile Dube said she met Majori outside the flat as she was trying to call her boyfriend.
"It was a painful experience for Majori to discover that her boyfriend had impregnated another woman after promising to marry her in December. "This really affected her and the last time that I spoke to her I could see that she was seriously disturbed by what she had discovered," she said.
Dube said she was surprised when she later got a knock from other neigbours in the flat that rushed to see Majori who had committed suicide just outside the flat.
"A lot of tenants really blamed the man for his actions that had forced Majori to kill her self as she could not take the pain of being double crossed with another woman," she said.
B-Metro went to the flat and met Innocent Kurwe, the manager of the flat and he confirmed that there was a woman who committed suicide last Thursday just outside their premise.
"There was a case of a woman who committed suicide outside our premise and I understand the woman had a written note. So it is difficult to say she had a misunderstanding with one of our tenants as police never told us that," he said. Provincial police spokes person for Bulawayo Metropolitan Inspector Mandlenkosi Moyo, confirmed hat they were handling a case of a woman who committed suicide out of a flat last Thursday.
