Councilors clash over sale of Harare Gardens

Harare councilors are reported to have clashed over the decision to sell Harare Gardens.
This was revealed by the Harare Residents Trust which said the clashes emerged during the full council meeting on Thursday.
"During the Full Council Meeting held last Thursday, Harare City Councillors were sharply divided over the sale of part of Harare Gardens in order to settle outstanding salaries, now running to six months," the trust said.
"The councillors voted as follows; 18 for the sale, 14 against the sale, and six abstained from the vote."
The local authority recently made a decision to sale the Harare Gardens much to the chagrin of many stakeholders.
