Stepson kills businessman

Police are investigating the death of prominent Mberengwa businessman Alfonias Masvola (71) who is believed to have been murdered by his stepson, assisted by his brother.
The reasons for the alleged murder are not yet clear.
Masvola who owned shops at Mataga Business Centre was allegedly killed by his stepson Mkhokhle Moyo (37) and the deceased's brother Tafaranazvo Hamadziripi.
He was allegedly hit by logs on Friday last week after some misunderstandings.
Midlands Police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Ethel Mukwende confirmed the report.
"We are investigating a murder case which occurred in Mberengwa in Ramunyenyiwa Village, Chief Chingoma where it is alleged that a stepson killed his father," said Mukwende.
Mukwende said it is alleged that on July 15, 2016, Moyo of Bhayanga Village, Chief Madhuna, Filabus who is an illegitimate son to Masvola (the deceased) was with his uncle Hamadziripi when the two had a misunderstanding with the deceased.
Masvola sustained injuries all over the body and was rushed to Mnene Hospital but he died on arrival.
