Politicians should not be desperate for supporters

Heneri Dzinotyiwei, MDC-T shadow education minister should be advised that politics should be for politicians and not for school going children. Children should be left focusing on their education.
Involving children in politics will actually interfere with their curriculum hence, affecting their pass rate.
Dzinotyiwei's shallow decision depicts how desperate for power his opposition party is.
MDC-T should not attempt to gain political mileage by abusing the young souls. Children know their rights hence; they should not be fooled by that opposition party. Why should school children revolt against their head of State? What wrong has President Robert Mugabe and government done to the education sector that made Dzinotyiwei attempt to incite these young souls to rebel? MDC-T should not show its desperation for supporters through inciting school children.
In fact, that opposition party should be cautioned against abusing children for their political benefit. MDC-T has realized that it is no longer a darling of the electorate; therefore it is trying to find other avenues of maximizing their support base. Considering that most school going children are under voting age, it really makes no sense for MDC-T to force march these young people into politics. Their time to become politically active shall come.
Zimbabwe is a democratic country. Thus, if children have grievances they should do through normal channels rather than being influenced by a certain political party in pursuit of its nefarious agenda.
When Primary and Secondary Education Minister, Dr Lazarus Dokora, introduced the National Pledge, the MDC-T was quick to dismiss it citing a number of senseless reasons, among them that it was a ZANU-PF mantra.
Personally, I did not see any reason why MDC-T was denouncing the National Pledge. Just like singing of the national anthem, reciting of the national pledge is a national vow which has absolutely nothing to do with ideology of any political outfit.
MDC-T has a history of inciting trade unions, vendors and university students among others to revolt against government. That history backdates to the days when its leader Morgan Tsvangirai, forced employees to stay away from their workplaces as a way of protesting against government. Unfortunately, none of these antics ever worked. MDC-T could have noticed their grassroot support is dropping by each day due to a number of opposition forces being formed, hence inciting kindergarten pupils to be part of them.
Like MDC-T, ZAPU president Dumiso Dabengwa is also hunting for supporters. Surprising to note is that the ZAPU leader was recently addressing church and burial society leaders in Bulawayo. Dabengwa could also be facing a stiff competition from his opposition counterparts hence targeting church and burial society leaders, who are believed to be opinion leaders in different communities.
The desperation for supporters by opposition forces in the country is an indication that they are nearing their political grave. Real politicians do not hunt for supporters; instead it is supporters who hunt for them.
Dzinotyiwei and allies should actually find best ways that supports and improve the education system for the betterment of the children. Children need to be guided by their elders and not to be forced into politics. Whilst on the other hand, church leaders and burial society leaders should resist from being abused by politicians. Politicians believe that church leaders have a voice for regime change, hence embroiling them in politics. Burial society leaders should be concerned about their business and leave politics to politicians.
It is indeed a shame that Dabengwa is seeking political sympathy from church and burial society leaders.
