Hotel employee hangs self

Macdonald Pindukai (20) who was employed at Chivhu's Philjen Lodge as a cook died on Sunday after he hang himself from the roof of a room where he stayed at the lodge.
Sources said he had a misunderstandings with his mother.
Chivhu District deputy officer commanding Lameck Mtetwa confirmed the death. The deceased stayed at the lodge with his mother and stepmother and they are all employed at Philgen.
His stepfather Nickson Chigonyati is a supervisor at the lodges. It is alleged that the deceased had pending issues of stealing a cellphone and money from his mother.
The deceased's mother who had reported the matter to the Police had withdrawn the case.
Pindukai returned from work at around 11pm and joined his younger brother Innocent Chigonyati (14) in their spare bedroom.
The deceased's young brother woke upat around half 12 midnight and saw the body of Pindukai tied with a rope on the neck hanging from a beam in their spare bedroom and informed his parents.
Chigonyati, had counseled the deceased before he hanged himself.
