West Nicholson - Wet conditions are expected in Matabeleland South for the next week, the Weather Service said on Thursday.
The rainy spell was caused by a sweeping tropical inflow that hit the country on Monday, and was met with warm moist air coming in from the Indian Ocean on Tuesday and Wednesday, said senior forecaster.
On Thursday most of Matabeleland South will have a 60% chance of showers and thundershowers, although areas like Beitbridge, West Nicholson and Gwanda could expect an 80% chance.
Matabeleland South and Masvingo had at least 30% chance of rain until Sunday, when 60% could be expected.
As the cloud system shifted northwards, Masvingo and Harare could expect some respite from the damp conditions, with only isolated showers predicted between Saturday and Tuesday.
Thereafter, the cloud cover was expected to begin clearing from the south.
