ZUJ condemns attacks on journalist by police

The Zimbabwe Union of Journalists, ZUJ, is absolutely appalled by the two attacks on the operations of professional journalists today.
Police were reported to have beaten up journalist, Lucy Yasini in another act of unwarranted aggression and intolerance against journalists.
In another heinous attack on professional journalists, a vehicle belonging to the ZBC news crew was torched during a demonstration.
The Zimbabwe Union of Journalists, ZUJ, continues to call on Zimbabweans and the police to remain calm when they are in the presence of journalists. We condemn in very strong terms the barbaric attacks on journalists.
